TECH INSTRUCTION / NOTES WINTERIZING VFD EAGLE PUMP STATIONS
1. Isolate the ¼” ball valve connected to the transducer sensing line. Remove the line from the transducer and leave it disconnected until start up in the spring.
2. After draining the discharge manifold remove the relief valve piloting form the valve body. Remove the CRL sensing line and piloting feed line at the isolation valves on the manifold. Store the piloting in a location protected from freezing.
3. Remove the inlet and outlet lines from the heat exchanger and using compressed air, blow into the inlet expelling all water from the cooling coil.
¨ Older systems are piloted from the valve body not the discharge manifold. Loosen the lower connections and remove the hoses with the piloting form storage.
If the entire system will remain charged and the chance of freezing is minimal, we recommend the use of a kerosene heater in the pump house to keep the transducer relief valve and heat exchanger above freezing. It can and does freeze in normally warm areas, (
